Balancing Technology and Humanity

 


As we race to develop advanced technologies, it is essential to pause and ask ourselves: who are we creating these for if we are not considering the well-being of others? The rapid growth of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data storage comes at a significant environmental cost. Data centers, the backbone of our digital world, consume vast amounts of energy and generate heat, often requiring immense amounts of water for cooling. This reliance on natural resources exacerbates issues like water scarcity, which is already a pressing global problem. The very systems meant to ease our lives may inadvertently contribute to environmental damage and climate change, raising questions about the sustainability of our technological ambitions.


Meanwhile, humanity is increasingly divided by conflicts, hatred, and a quest for power. Wars over territory, resources, and ideologies remind us of the fragility of our existence. All these advancements, from AI to energy-hungry technologies, seem hollow if they only serve to deepen divides or strain our planet’s resources. Instead, we must strive for a balanced equation—one that fosters harmony between nature, technology, and living beings. It is only by ensuring that innovation aligns with ecological and social responsibility that we can maintain the equilibrium necessary for a just and sustainable future. The world does not need more destruction disguised as progress; it needs compassion, cooperation, and thoughtful action.

നമുക്ക് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം കിട്ടിയിട്ട് ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഏതാണ്ട് അറുപതു വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. പലര്‍ക്കും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പല തരത്തിലാണ് അനുഭവ പെടുക. ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഭൂരി പക്ഷം വരുന്ന മധ്യ വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ താത്പര്യങ്ങളാണ് നാം പൊതുവില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ കണ്ടു വരുന്നത്. അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ സവര്‍ണ മേധാവിതത്തിന്റെ അടിമത്തത്തെ ഇപ്പോഴും പൂര്‍ണമായും തുടച്ചു നീക്കാന്‍ നമ്മുടെ ജനാധിപത്യത്തിനു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല. എത്ര കണ്ടു ശേരിയെന്നോ തെറ്റെന്നോ വ്യാഖിനിചാലും പക്ഷ പാതത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ശേരി ഇവിടെ തഴച്ചു നില്‍ക്കുനത് കാണാം നമുക്ക്. ജനാധിപത്യതിലുള്ള സാധാരണക്കാരന്റെ വിശ്വാസത്തെ എത്ര കണ്ടു സാധൂകരിക്കാന്‍ നമ്മുടെ ഭരണകൂടങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞിടുന്ടെന്നു ഒന്ന് ചിന്തിക്കേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. എന്തിനേറെ പറയുന്നു, നമ്മുടെ നിയമങ്ങള്‍ പോലും പലപ്പോഴും മര്‍ദ്ദിദന്റെ നേരെ വാലോങ്ങുന്നത് നാം കാണുന്നു. ഇവിടെ നീതി ഒരു തരത്തിലും നടപ്പാക്കാന്‍ അഴിമതിയും സവര്‍ണ താന്തോന്നിതവും സമ്മതിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നതാണ് സത്യം.

ഇന്നും അന്നും എന്നും നമ്മെ  നാമാക്കി മാറ്റുന്നത് നമ്മുടെ മാതൃഭാഷയാണ്. കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ മന്ന്സ്സിലാക്കുന്നതും ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതും ഒക്കെ നമ്മള്‍ മലയാളികള്‍ മലയാളത്തില്‍ തന്നെ ആയിരിക്കും. പക്ഷെ എപ്പോഴോ നമ്മുടെ ഇടയില്‍ നിന്നും ചില സംസ്കാരം നഷ്ടപെട്ടുപോയി. ആവശ്യമില്ലതിടത്  പോലും അന്യഭാഷാ കടന്നുകയറ്റം കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
